Who is Oiseau
Oiseau is French for bird. It was my nickname at school, because I could never sit still: I was always flitting around the room, talking to everyone and pecking at their work. I never really stopped, and the name stuck: it is even in the name of my band, Oiseau and Aida. I have spent a lifetime crossing borders, setting up businesses in countries where I did not speak the language at first, and coming home to a house with twelve children in it. Three of them are adopted, two from Thailand and one from Vietnam, so I know what it takes to bring a family together across cultures.
I have had the wins people write about and the losses they don't. I have made money and lost it, made friends and lost some of those too, and learned how to start again more than once. None of that makes me perfect. It does mean that whatever you are going through, there is a decent chance I have been somewhere near it.
I won't judge you, and I won't give you a lecture. I'll tell you what I would tell one of my own: honestly, kindly, and with something practical you can do next.
